beautiful day – clean toilet!

Here’s a bit more catching up on my posts from the McCloud River area. I shot these photos on the way back out to I-5 to continue on with our travels. We had stopped at a park area known as Dekkas Rock to photograph the shores in the area where the McCloud River merges with one of the arms Lake Shasta.

The above photo is a view looking upstream, and below is a thumbnail of a panorama that I stitched together from several shots looking downstream. You can click on it for a larger view, or on this link for a medium-sized view.

While at this location, I just had to photograph the “toilet service record” sheet posted on the inside of the door of a rather fancy wooden privy. The messages posted by one of the attendants struck me as amusingly upbeat — Beautiful day, Clean Toilet!Pulled the dead branch down!
Gotta like that kind of enthusiasm.

Looks like you’re having a great time. I came “this close” to hiking around Mt Shasta several years back, but got snowed out by the first winter storm of the season. So, I’m living vicariously through these recent posts!

What a fantastic panoramic shot. It still looks very dry back there east of Interstate 5. Glad you found a clean toilet. A very important thing when you’re out on the road. Today we had our first day of sunshine since the 1st of October. It was warm and lovely.
