• Cedar Creek Insects - Fly Identification Gallery - click on images to move into family galleries. Many of the insects are pinned specimens, so not always that helpful for IDing live insects.
• BugGuide.net - Fly Galleries - this site works best if you have some idea of family of the fly you're looking for. A bit tricky to figure out how this site works at first, but once you know how it is organized, it's an excellent resource.
• Diptera Info photo galleries - a growing collection of photos and drawings of fly species, arranged by taxonomy.
• Herschel Raney's RNA Robber Fly - there's a lot on this site including this illustrated key to Robber fly genera of eastern North America. Check around the main page for the navigation links.
• The Crane Flies of Pennsylvania - excellent resource for identification of crane flies of the region.
