Upper Jock River Report
Page 2
Traveling south on Wood's Road,
we turned east onto Jock Trail Road and stopped at the bridge over the Jock
(see above). The scene was much the same as last year at approximately this
time of summer -- the river slowly flowing through the lowest points between
the flat shelves of limestone and small heaps of cracked limestone rubble.
Proceeding onwards, we turned south
onto Munster Side Road and stopped at the bridge which spans the Jock just
a little further downstream.
Once again, we encountered very low
water conditions, which made canoe travel impossible. However, we decided
to stop at this point to survey and make notes on the area surrounding and
beneath the bridge -- Location #1. (field notes appended to this report ).
