recently read and enjoyed

These are few posts which I’ve recently read and enjoyed while visiting other blogs:

* Check out Dad Loves His Work, a fascinating piece on seahorses, by Mark H. of the Biomes Blog. It is followed by Seahorses, Part 2 that was just posted today. These are the latest of Mark’s pieces in the Daily Kos: Marine Life Series. If you enjoy the seahorse pieces, be *sure* to read some of the past pieces in the series.

* Visit Niches, to view Wayne’s terrific presentation of photos and data collected yesterday in response to my post on our recently initiated big tree project. Wayne has already taken the project idea to great heights — and diameters! Go see for yourself!

* While searching for something quite else, I was clicking around (I’m sure you know how that goes!) and came across this interesting piece about a Peruvian weaver, found on the South American Journal blog. It’s actually from back in June, but it’s definitely worth a look, as is the excellent .pdf article, A Durable Weave, linked to from that blog page. Quite a story. If your interest has been twigged, you’ll find much more on the ArtAndes website.

Well, that’s it for now, but I’ll continue posting good reads as I happen across them.

Mark – I’ve just posted links to both of your pieces on the Modulator comments – but I think they went into a “pending” thing as I posted 2 links and it may have said something about “an excess of links”. Unfortunately, I closed the screen just as I noticed it, so I’m not quite sure what the problem might have been. However, I’m pretty sure it will go through okay.

    It’s up.
