recently read and enjoyed

These are few posts which I’ve recently read and enjoyed while visiting other blogs:
* At Borneo Breezes, a community medicine doc writes about a trip on The Singing Bus in Uganda.
* Flatbush Gardener, Xris, presents a terrific photo-essay on the NY Sheep and Wool Fesitval (lots of wonderful photos and will take awhile to download on a dial-up connection like mine, but it’s worth it). Note: See Xris’s comment below. He’s changed the lay-out of the page to make it more user-friendly for those with dial-up.
* In Walking Stick Love, some unique photos of Northern Walking Sticks (the insect variety) at Thomasburg Walks.
* Here’s one for those who enjoy art and are interested in what goes into the making of a painting. Photography and the Painter – Part iii, at Rigor Vitae. Some very fascinating examples.
* While just getting over a bad cold picked up during my wanderings in the west, I came across *this* piece at Via Negativa. Just what I needed to read, Dave!
That’s it for now. More on the way sometime soon.

Thanks for pointing out the post on the Sheep and Wool Festival — yay for New York agriculture! But the link to the Via Negativa post (which I also enjoyed, if I’m thinking of the same one you’re thinking of) isn’t right.

Vasha – Thanks for mentioning that the link to “After the Cold” not being right. I’ve just fixed it!

Thanks for the testimonial! It means a lot to me. I love your photography.
“… will take awhile to download on a dial-up connection like mine”
Corrected. Instead of having everything on one big page, I just re-organized each section to its own page.
Thanks for identifying a problem. I’ll be sure to keep each page to a (more) manageable size in the future!

Xris – Thanks! I’ve just added a little note above to let readers know that the lay-out has been changed to make it more user-friendly for (unfortunate) dial-up people such as myself.
